Rafflesia Trekking

Overview

Rafflesia is claimed as the biggest flower in the world. The trek to the Rafflesia is near a little village about 12km from Gopeng, near Ipoh, Perak. Trek through the jungle to where the Rafflesia thrives, you need to engage the services of a Semai Orang Asli guide.

The trekking activity will be done at steep, wet, and slippery trail and some part of the way may involve walking through a small stream. We recommended you to wear hiking shoes that have a good grip. There will be lots of leeches too. So if you have leech socks or the soccer socks, bring them along with you.

What you will do

Arrive and meet with GTOC staff at exit Gopeng Toll Plaza (exit 135) and proceed to the parking area (Laman Maisya Chalet)

30 min – Preparation and proceed to the starting point

30 min – Safety briefing and adventure begin

1 hour 30 min – Expected arrival at Rafflesia area

30 min - Group photo and rest

1 hour 30 min – Expected arrival at the ending point

30 min – Lunch

30 min – Self-management and end of the activity
